Prepare for Your First Visit

When you arrive, check in at the front desk. Be sure to bring your ID, insurance cards and a list of any medications you’re currently taking.

Your first visit will be longer than usual as you’ll meet with your doctor and nurses to discuss your treatment, medications and any necessary lifestyle changes. You may also watch an educational video, depending on your type of cancer.

Chemotherapy treatments generally take longer than radiation. Your first session may be extended to allow for lab work and careful monitoring of medications.

We provide reading material, snacks, drinks, blankets and pillows, but feel free to bring your own. If your treatment takes place during lunch, you can order meals for you and a guest.
