Prepare for Your First Visit
Your first cancer treatment can feel stressful, but we’re here to make sure you feel prepared. When you arrive, check in at the front desk and bring your ID, insurance cards and a list of any
current medications.
At your first visit, you’ll meet your care team and learn about your treatment, possible side effects and how to manage them.
Chemotherapy is provided by Illinois CancerCare and may take several hours. We offer snacks, drinks and warm blankets to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible. Radiation happens at OSF St. Mary and is usually quicker. However, treatment time depends on your specific treatment plan.
