I provide the type of patient care that I would like myself or my loved ones to receive. I strive to provide the highest quality and most evidence-based holistic care possible.
Alicia initially chose nursing as a career because it gave her the opportunity to help people. "I continued my education and became a nurse practitioner to be able to provide care at a higher level," she said.
During appointments, Alicia wants "patients to know I don't expect them to be perfect. Health is a journey and I enjoy helping people meet their health needs in a positive non-judgmental manner. I like to help people celebrate their successes as well as assisting them with encouragement in times when their health may not be at the level they would like it to be."
She chose family medicine because, "I enjoy getting to know entire families and meeting their health care needs to the best of my ability."
The opioid crisis plaguing the U.S. is a great concern to Alicia.
"I do not manage chronic pain that requires the use of opioid medications," she said. "I will manage chronic pain with non-opioid medications and alternative treatment such as physical therapy."
