Graduate School, Physician Assistant
Allison Stafford grew up in Lansing, Michigan, where she almost always had an interest in the medical profession. However, it was an opportunity during high school to shadow a physician assistant that made her realize the profession was a good fit for her.
She studied pre-med at Ferris State University in Big Rapids, Michigan and she got her degree in physician assistant studies at Midwestern University in Downers Grove, Illinois.
"I love being a physician assistant because there are many different opportunities and avenues to explore," Allison said. "It is a very versatile profession but allows time for a personal life too.
"My approach to care is to establish good rapport with patients and provide the best care I can. I hope that patients can feel comfortable and have their concerns addressed to the best of my ability during their appointments with me."
Allison prefers a smaller tight-knit community where people know each other and a familiar smile is easy to find, so it's no surprise she loves the environment in Escanaba and at OSF HealthCare.
She and her husband, Charlie, have a German shepherd named Huck. She likes golfing, music, traveling, crafts and spending time with family and friends.
