Amanda Bruemmer, MD, is a compassionate primary care physician specializing in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics (Med-Peds). She provides thoughtful, non-judgmental care, ensuring her patients feel heard and supported. She believes that genuine connection is key to helping patients achieve their health care goals and strives to create a comfortable, welcoming environment during visits.

Dr. Bruemmer grew up in a small town near Kalamazoo, Michigan, and was drawn to medicine after witnessing the strong bonds her grandfather, a dentist, built within his community. She chose Med-Peds to gain in-depth training in managing chronic conditions, complex illnesses and preventive care across all ages. Her areas of expertise include mental health, newborn care, adolescent health, 
diabetes, high blood pressure and dementia.

With a background in Narrative Medicine from Columbia University and experience in improv comedy, Dr. Bruemmer brings a unique perspective to patient care, medical education and physician well-being. She is passionate about humanism in medicine, obesity care and physician mental health.

She and her husband, Jason, are excited to return closer to family in the Upper Peninsula. Outside of work, she enjoys traveling to places like Antarctica and South Africa, reading, watching sports especially Michigan football, Formula 1, and exploring nature with their two Bernese Mountain Dogs.
