I approach patient care as if we are a team. I value education for both parents and children and strive to empower both in my treatment plans.
Dr. Stovall feels blessed to work at a health care system with so many resources for children and families.
“OSF provides support for new parents, care management for children with complex medical needs and mental health resources,” she said. “They’ve been providing excellent care to families for years.”
Dr. Stovall enjoys taking care of children of all ages, starting at the newborn stage.
“I love working with new parents and empowering them to care for their newborn,” she said. “The newborn period is full of so many amazing moments. But I have also really come to enjoy working with adolescents as well.”
She helps older children learn how to talk to their doctor, encourages them to learn the names of their medications, understand their allergies and so much more.
As a high school student, Dr. Stovall’s basketball coach was also a doctor. He let her tag along as he rounded on patients in the hospital. The experience was her inspiration to become a doctor.
“I was drawn to the connection he had with his patients, and I wanted that for myself,” she said.
Dr. Stovall grew up in Kentucky. She loves spending time with family, being outdoors, seeing new places and cooking for those she loves.
