Working together as a team is a very effective approach to delivering high quality care and getting resources for patients.
Amber believes in the OSF HealthCare Mission to serve others with the greatest care and love and wants to be involved in an organization that invests in its community and Mission Partners. Her family has farmed for decades in the Galesbrug area, and she is deeply rooted in the local community both personally and professionally.
During an appointment with Amber, she wants her patients to understand that good dialogue is key for personalized care. She encourages patients to take an active role in their care and work closely with her to live the best possible life.
Amber attended nursing school immediately out of high school. She chose this career because she enjoys caring for others. Her nursing background is heavily weighted in the cardiopulmonary area, so working in pulmonology as a nurse practitioner is a great fit. Her collaborating physicians mentored her at the start of her career in the ICU and are excellent providers.
Amber and her husband have three children, a few pets and some free-range chickens. In her spare time, she enjoys baking, traveling and reading.
