Dr. Amin Sharieff was born in India, and moved to the United States for his residency and fellowship programs. He is looking forward to joining the OSF HealthCare family because the OSF Mission is in line with my own views of health care, which includes being accessible, affordable and in service to the community, he said. Dr. Sharieff chose the path of cardiology medicine because it gives him a challenge that he thrives on and continually allows him to grow. All cardiology patients are not the same, each requiring an individual approach, he said. As such, it has taught me to treat the patient and not just address the disease. His approach to care is simple, I always ask myself what I would do if my mother was in front me as my patient, he said. I have a strong belief in disease prevention, patient education and good communication. An avid traveler, Dr. Sharieff has visited over 30 countries and has lived in quite a few of them. Travel broadens the mind and makes me grateful for the things I have, he said. Dr. Sharieff enjoys being physically active and believes good health is the greatest asset to someone's life. He and his wife and have a funny, intelligent and curious 4-year-old little girl.
