Dr. Matheis-Soliman grew up in Plainfield, Illinois.

She prides herself on her emphasis on preventative medicine, her patient-centered, holistic approach to care and patient empowerment to strive toward the body's optimal state of health.

"I believe optimal health requires integrating mind, body and soul in my care," Dr. Matheis-Soliman said. "I am passionate about preventative medicine and optimizing quality of life. I emphasize the importance of regular exercise and proper nutrition."

She chose family medicine so she could provide all types of care to patients of all ages and to offer preventative medicine to ensure healthy lives. To her, teamwork is key to what she does.

"I appreciate the team approach on achieving the best possible care," she said. "The team includes the patient. I encourage them to be active participants in their health care and I respect their wishes and recognize their limitations."

Since coming to Mendota in 2007, Dr. Matheis-Soliman has been involved in several hospital committees, including home health, community health services, pharmacy and therapeutics. Most recently, she has served as Medical Staff President for OSF Saint Paul Medical Center.

In her personal time, she enjoys spending time with her family. She has four children and is very active with their school activities, sports and hobbies. She also enjoys jogging, cycling and crafting.
