During an appointment with me, patients can expect a personalized approach to their health. I take time to understand your medical history, current concerns and lifestyle habits. We'll work together to develop a comprehensive plan to prevent or manage health concerns through healthy lifestyle changes.

Amy Zacharias, MD, is a dedicated family medicine physician with a passion for preventive care and lifestyle medicine.

Growing up on a farm in Central Illinois, Dr. Zacharias developed a deep appreciation for her close-knit community. She is excited to bring lifestyle medicine to the area, focusing on preventive strategies like healthy eating, exercise, stress management and sleep improvement to help people lead longer, healthier lives.

Lifestyle medicine uses therapeutic lifestyle interventions, such as a whole-food, plant-predominant diet, regular physical activity, restorative sleep, stress management and avoidance of risky substances, as a primary way to prevent and treat some of the most common chronic diseases.

Dr. Zacharias is board certified in Lifestyle Medicine through the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. She also holds a Plant-Based Professional Certification from Rouxbe, an online cooking school, and a Plant-Based Nutrition Certificate from the T. Colin Campbell Center for Nutrition Studies at Cornell University.

Her journey into medicine began in high school when she developed a passion for fitness and nutrition. This led her to family medicine, where she enjoys building long-term relationships with patients. Outside of work, she loves spending time with her husband and four children, traveling, cooking and spending time outdoors.
