As a board-certified general surgeon, Dr. Andres Giovannetti earned his medical degree from the Universidad Central de Venezuela. Before moving to the United States, he completed a general surgery residency and advanced laparoscopic surgery fellowship in Caracas, Venezuela.
Upon settling in Chicago, Dr. Giovannetti completed a general surgery residency at the University of Illinois Metropolitan Group of Hospitals, followed by a robotic advanced gastrointestinal and hepatic-pancreatic-biliary surgery fellowship at AdventHealth Hospital in Tampa, Florida.
His extensive training gives Dr. Giovannetti the expertise to treat common surgical conditions like hernias and gallstones and complex benign and malignant disorders of the liver, pancreas, and biliary system.
Dr. Giovannetti is a native Spanish speaker. In his spare time, he enjoys baking, cooking and spending time with his family.
