Being in a profession where she could help others was important for Ashley Langley.
"It was also important that the profession I chose would allow for work-life balance between working and family. Nursing allows for that balance," she said.
She previously worked 10 years as a registered nurse for OSF HealthCare. She's excited to be back now as a nurse practitioner "where I can continue to care for families regardless of their ability to pay."
Specializing in family medicine was an easy decision for Ashley. "I love establishing relationships with patients. I like the nursing philosophy of caring for the whole patient, not just their physical diagnosis," she said. "I chose family practice because I like the ability to see patients throughout the lifespan."
Her goal with patients is to establish a definitive diagnosis and create a treatment plan based on the patient's unique, individual needs. "I enjoy getting to know my patients and caring for their physical, emotional and social needs."
When not working, Ashley enjoys time with her husband and two kids. She also enjoys running, skiing, baking and travel and adventure.
