Dr. Gumbiner has a passion for serving his community through thoughtful, team-based care. Motivated by his grandfather's passing and his aunt's encouragement, he pursued medicine to make a meaningful difference for families. Dr. Gumbiner’s specialty in podiatry combines his love for hands-on problem-solving and surgery, skills honed during his upbringing in Northwest Indiana.

Dr. Gumbiner chose OSF HealthCare for its commitment to people and the communities we serve. He feels privileged to work alongside the hardworking, kind individuals in Dixon and surrounding areas, a place he proudly calls home. Appointments with Dr. Gumbiner are collaborative, focusing on patient goals and shared decision-making.

Mentorship and teaching are an important part of Dr. Gumbiner’s life and practice.  As the podiatry residency director at OSF Saint Katharine, he guides residents and students on their path toward professional excellence in the field of podiatric medicine and surgery.  This strengthens the bond between patients and OSF Healthcare by ensuring patients always have a team of professionals behind their care.

Outside of medicine, Dr. Gumbiner enjoys playing the drums and traveling with his family to national parks. His wife, a doctor of school psychology practicing in the Dixon area, and their two children share his love for community and adventure.
