Dr. Chandrashekhar Thukral is a board-certified gastroenterologist. He earned his medical degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and completed his residency and gastroenterology fellowship at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, Harvard Medical School.
He specializes in treating gastrointestinal and liver disorders, with a focus on inflammatory bowel disease. Dr. Thukral is a clinical associate professor of medicine at the University of Illinois College of Medicine, where he also mentors students and residents.
A fellow of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy, he has served on multiple committees and helped develop industry training programs. He has published research on inflammatory bowel disease and Celiac disease.
Outside of medicine, he enjoys reading, exploring new cuisines and playing golf. He speaks English, Hindi, Italian and Bengali.
