Dr. Sparrow is a Peoria native who is excited to come back home to serve the community with OSF HealthCare. I have always appreciated the impact OSF HealthCare has had on the care of people in Peoria, Dr. Sparrow said. There is a real commitment from OSF HealthCare to offering the local community the best health care available, whether through investment in the latest technology, the construction of new and beautiful facilities or the recruitment of the best and brightest. His interest in medicine started with his father who was also a physician in Peoria. And he chose cardiology because it puts him in a positon to make the same positive impact on people's lives. I remember visiting him at work and seeing the difference he made in people's lives. There are outstanding treatments available that can drastically improve quality of life. I enjoy being able to make a difference. I'm interested in the management of patients with heart failure, often the sickest patients in whom innovative treatment strategies can be the difference between life and death. Dr. Sparrow believes in getting to know his patients and find a treatment plan that works for everyone. I want to know what symptoms my patient is experiencing, how much these symptoms are impacting their quality of life and what their goals are with the management of their heart issue, Dr. Sparrow said. I then discuss treatment options with each patient and share in the decision-making process with patients and their families to ensure that everyone is able to achieve their goals. Dr. Sparrow and his wife, Erin, have one son. He enjoys traveling, cooking, golfing, hiking, presidential trivia, history and non-fiction books.
