Courtney McFarlin grew up in Illinois and is currently living in Glen Carbon, where she has lived the past 17 years.

"I enjoy the cohesiveness of a small town," Courtney said. "I appreciate that the community truly comes together in times of need to help others."

There are many medical professionals in Courtney's family, and she grew up involved in medical missions serving those less fortunate. Now, as a physician assistant, she is able to continue serving in this way by continuing with medical missions to Belize, Central America, where her father practices dentistry.

Her approach to care remains simple – treat all patients as if they were her immediate family. A high standard of care and compassion paired with a strong level of medical knowledge is important in providing a well-rounded clinical experience.

"I strive to give all my patients the time and attention they deserve," she said. "I try to listen and be as informative as I can about their medical problems. It's very important to me that each of my patients leave my office feeling like they have been listened to and feel comfortable with their plan of care."

Courtney has been married for 18 years and has three children. She and her family enjoy coaching and playing sports, including basketball, volleyball and soccer. She enjoys snow skiing, being on the lake and working on fun projects with her kids. She is active in her church and frequently volunteers at her children's school.
