I try to make the patient and their family feel comfortable. I discuss with them the treatment options and any potential side effects.
As a radiation oncologist, Dr. Reed treats all types of cancer. She's looking forward to providing radiation oncology services to the Eastern Illinois area.
"The building is beautiful, and we will have new, state-of-the-art technology," Dr. Reed said.
During an appointment, Dr. Reed strives to make the patient feel relaxed as she discusses their diagnosis and treatment options with them.
Being able to help people was what drew her to a career in medicine. Specializing in radiation oncology allows her to treat severe illnesses.
"I enjoy being able to cure someone or reduce their pain and discomfort," Dr. Reed said.
Her twins – a boy and a girl – are both in college. When not working, Dr. Reed likes taking walks, watching movies and reading books. As a Master Gardener, she loves her time outside.
