For Dr. Morker, medicine is practically a family calling. Nine members of his extended family are doctors. It was his uncle, an internal medicine doctor, who inspired Dr. Morker as a child to want to pursue medicine. Helping patients and developing relationships are what drew him to specialize in family medicine.
He loves family medicine because he gets to deal with a wide variety of patient needs and develop lasting relationships with patients. Family medicine is never boring or monotonous. He was drawn to OSF HealthCare because of its patient-first philosophy and emphasis on teamwork.
"Building a strong relationship of trust with a patient is important to me," he said. "Hopefully patients see me as a positive, enthusiastic physician."
He is married, and his interests include sports – football, basketball, baseball and cricket – and spending time with family. He plays every year in the annual basketball tournament at Harvest Bible Chapel in Rolling Meadows.
