Emily has worked at OSF HealthCare throughout her entire nursing career and training. She was drawn to the culture of caring, teamwork and helping everyone succeed. Having grown up in a rural area of Illinois, she is happy to work at a rural access clinic and enjoys the community feeling that comes along with this.
“I want my patients to be open and honest with concerns or fears. I enjoy open dialog but am able to fill silence and help make patients feel comfortable until trust has been built,” she said. “I want to listen to you as a person, not just as a diagnosis or illness.”
Care across the continuum is what drew Emily to Family Practice when going back for her nurse practitioner degree. She wants to take care of families, no matter their age. She enjoys seeing kids in all the stages of growing as well as managing chronic health issues that many patients experience. She also helps families through end-of-life concerns to ensure comfort and dignity.
Emily has a son and a daughter who keep her busy, and she is engaged and excited to marry her best friend. She loves to explore new areas, such as different restaurants, hiking trails and shopping.
