Dr. Richardson’s path to optometry began with a fascination for science and a college research role studying retinal cells. “I still get to educate patients every day, and it truly makes a difference in their care,” she said. 

Drawn to the connection between vision and overall health, she found her passion in medical optometry, treating patients from infancy to advanced age. A proud Sauk Valley native, Dr. Richardson is thrilled to provide high-quality, accessible eye care in her hometown through OSF HealthCare. Her appointments are thorough and patient-focused, combining comprehensive vision exams with education and personalized care. 

Dr. Richardson married her high school sweetheart, and they have three energetic kids. They enjoy staying active as a family with sports, park outings, day trips and movie nights – plus a few home improvement projects always in the works.
