Dr. Umer enjoys working with the talented team at OSF HealthCare where there is a joint goal of helping all patients achieve favorable outcomes. He also teaches medical residents to help guide them in their medical education and career growth.
“An appointment with me begins with diagnosing a condition and using the best of my knowledge for a care plan that is agreed upon with the patient,” he said. “I believe in being a partner with my patient. Rheumatology deals with complex autoimmune disorders, which can be disabling. Having high interest in the subjects of immunology, pathology and medicine led Dr. Umer to this specialty. He works to offer patients solutions to rheumatologic conditions so they can have the best quality of life possible.
Dr. Umer and has wife have two daughters and one son. In his free time, he enjoys playing soccer and cricket.
