Dr. Mathew grew up in India, and pursuing a career in medicine just seemed natural to him. It was a perfect fit. He never considered another specialty, either. He simply knew he wanted to get into interventional cardiology, where the immediate results of certain treatments can be truly satisfying for him and his patients. Working for OSF HealthCare fits with his preference for working for not-for-profit organizations, and he likes to serve where there is a need. I wish to welcome my patients as if they were guests at my house, and to care for them according to the golden rule, Dr. Mathew said. In his spare time he enjoys gardening, and he has dabbled in art and literature. He even wrote, directed and produced a theater piece about Henry David Thoreau that was performed in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
