I believe in providing care that meets the needs of the patient and their family. I also recognize the importance of teamwork to provide quality care to the patient.
Dr. Samaraweera was inspired by her father to become a doctor. He was also a physician, and she grew up seeing the impact he had on others.
“I could see that he was fulfilled by the work he did and that had an impact on me,” she said.
In an appointment, Dr. Samaraweera will listen to your needs and clearly explain her treatment plan. You will work together to make sure it works well for all involved.
“I recognize the importance family has on an individual’s health,” she said. “A unique feature of family medicine is that it allows for continuity of care and treating the entire patient.”
She is also passionate about the elderly population. Dr. Samaraweera completed a geriatric fellowship and recognizes the challenges this group faces. She understands the need for assistance in maneuvering through the complex medical system while also dealing with the challenges presented as we age.
Dr. Samaraweera grew up in Daytona Beach, Florida. She enjoys kayaking, writing and loves to cheer on her Gators and Aggies!
