What medical change has impacted physical medicine and rehabilitation the most since you began practicing medicine?
Shorter acute rehabilitation lengths of stay and increased government regulations regarding patients who can be admitted to rehabilitation units.
Why did you choose physical medicine and rehabilitation?
I chose rehabilitation for the opportunity to care for patients for a number of weeks in a hospital and for longer as an outpatient.
Why did you choose Peoria, Illinois to practice when you could have gone anywhere in the country?
We are friends of the Community of St. John who have their Novitiate here.
Do you have any advice to give patients?
Think first and avoid taking unnecessary risks in driving, sports and activities around the house.
