What medical change has impacted the field of neurovascular surgery the most since you began practicing medicine?
The multispecialty/multidisciplinary manner in which neurovascular patients are managed.
By utilizing the expertise of multiple subspecialists including cerebrovascular neurosurgery, stroke neurology, interventional neuroradiology, and physiatry, the multidisciplinary team can optimize patient management.
This method is exemplified exceptionally by the INI Neurovascular Team.
Why did you choose cerebrovascular/skull base neurosurgery?
I chose cerebrovascular/skull base neurosurgery for the opportunity of being able to help patients with the most complex of neurological diseases using the most difficult and technically challenging surgical techniques.
Why did you choose Peoria, Illinois, to practice when you could have gone anywhere in the country?
I chose Peoria because of the Illinois Neurological Institute.
The INI is second to none worldwide in its ability to deliver the most complex and up-to-date neurological care for its patients and I consider it a privilege to be part of the world class INI team.
