Dr. White's own pediatrician, along with her education, influenced her into getting into medicine.
"Many children are scared to go to their doctor, but she always made me feel so comfortable and I found medicine fascinating from a young age," Dr. White said.
Her decision to specialize in internal medicine was made while in medical school.
"My grandfather had a severe stroke, which caused him to have multiple health issues as a result," Dr. White said. "Going through this experience as a family made me take a special interest in management of complex medical issues. I enjoy taking complicated health problems and working to break them down into more manageable plans."
In her approach to care, Dr. White likes to have a conversation with her patients when setting up a care plan.
"There are a lot of factors that influence a person's care plan – travel limitations, finances, family concerns, etc., – and these are all important to know to help come up with the best plan for an individual," she said.
Dr. White and her physician husband have two children. She is an avid reader and enjoys baking.
