As a provider, Julie approaches patient care with a holistic mindset concentrating on prevention and patient-provider collaboration.
Julie began her health care career as a registered nurse at OSF HealthCare and found it the perfect next step to continue her employment with the Ministry. She has lived in the Illinois Valley almost her entire life and is happy to offer care to her community. She enjoys the beauty and small-town relationships in the Ottawa area.
“A typical appointment with me will include an assessment of both physical and mental health status and needs,” she said. “There are so many components to one’s health, and I strive to ensure we are addressing all of these points.”
Choosing a career in family medicine made sense because she loves all aspects of health care across the entire lifespan. Whether it is a hypertension management appointment for an older patient, mental health needs for a teenager, or a well-child appointment, she looks forward to caring for the entire family.
Julie and her husband have two children, and she enjoys hiking, traveling somewhere new or enjoying her children’s activities in her free time.
