“To me, patient care can be as simple as a kind smile, a respectful handshake or a caring touch. Finding what a patient actually needs is what patient care means to me and how I approach each of my patients.”
Keith is a people person and enjoys meeting new people. He describes himself as empathetic and someone who always finds the good in others. The satisfaction he feels every day from patient care is a reward he doesn’t take for granted.
“I believe in the OSF Mission to serve with the greatest care and love,” Keith said. “I know from both personal and professional experience the miracles that OSF works every day.”
He views appointments as opportunities.
“It’s an opportunity to show care and compassion and to help you feel better, even if it’s only with a smile,” he said.
Keith’s career in health care began in 1991 when he became an EMT and knew immediately caring for people was what he wanted to do. He started nursing school in 2017 and became a nurse practitioner in 2023.
“I chose family practice because it is the ‘hub’ of health care,” he said. “I love problem solving. When a patient has a problem, I’ll work very hard to solve it.”
Keith was born and raised in Galesburg. He is married and loves spending time with his wife, daughter, son-in-law and grandson. He and his wife enjoy camping and riding Harley Davidson motorcycles.
