Working for OSF HealthCare and the Sisters' Mission is very rewarding for Kim. "They love and respect all who work with them and our patients," she said. "The Mission of serving others with the greatest care and love is something I truly believe it and try to follow both at work and in my personal life."
She loves working with her team of Mission Partners. "We are more than co-workers. We are friends and care for each other as well," she said.
Kim grew up in a family of doctors and appreciated how they helped people and treated others with respect. "I wanted to carry on that tradition," she said. "My grandfather and father were family physicians and had the utmost respect for what they did and how they treated their patients.
"Being in family practice allows me to care for the entire person – physically and mentally. I enjoy getting to know about my patients' family, work, hobbies and interests and not just their health issues."
Kim works with her patients as a team and encourages them to be involved in decisions. "My role is to educate so the patient can make the best decision possible," she said. "I love taking care of patients year after year – they truly feel like my family, and this is important."
When not working, Kim is involved with her church. She has a grown son serving in the U.S. Marines. She enjoys cooking, reading, gardening, crafts and traveling.
