Dr. Kristine Ray is passionate about patient care and finds her work extremely fulfilling.
"Kids just make me smile!" Dr. Ray said. "Getting to work with and take care of kids makes me happy and warms my heart."
Her lifelong interest in sports led her to complete a fellowship in sports medicine, giving her the opportunity to combine her passions for kids and sports. In addition to her practice as a pediatrician, Dr. Ray has extensive experience working with young athletes as a team physician for high school and college sports teams.
Dr. Ray chose OSF HealthCare to continue her practice because she feels the organization shares her compassionate and personal approach to care.
"I like to get to know my patients and their families. I often ask questions about their hobbies or favorite foods and try to find out what subjects they are interested in. I also try to ask parents what questions they have at least once or twice in every appointment to be sure all issues are addressed," Dr. Ray said.
A native of central Illinois, Dr. Ray is happy to be continuing her pediatric and pediatric sports medicine career in the community where she grew up.
When she's not working, Dr. Ray enjoys reading, hiking and being outdoors. She loves watching and playing sports and is a fan of the Chicago Cubs.
