When Kyra worked at the bedside as an RN, she cared for and educated patients and never saw them again.
“I often wondered what happened to them,” she said.
Family medicine allows her to care for patients throughout the span of their lives. This is a big reason she chose the specialty she did.
“I want to teach them about good health and disease prevention. I want to help them in their healing and recovery. I want to be there for them throughout their lives,” Kyra said.
She’s always had a passion for helping people. In high school, Kyra remembers a family member being hospitalized and seeing both good and bad examples of care.
“I wanted to be one of the ‘good ones’ and have a positive impact on every patient I encountered,” she said.
Kyra was born and raised in Peoria. She loves reading, cooking, baking and traveling.
