Laura chose to work at OSF HealthCare because the Mission aligns with her values of building long-term, trusting relationships with patients and the community.
She became a nurse to help people in need and is driven by a passion to help others. Laura became a labor and delivery nurse following in the footsteps of her grandmother, who was also in birth-work.
She returned to school to become a midwife and was motivated by a desire to build lasting relationships with her patients. Becoming a midwife allowed Laura to make a meaningful impact on women's lives through communication and commitment.
Appointments with Laura are centered on the patient, driven by their needs and questions. A care plan is developed through shared decision making and respecting personal beliefs.
She is looking forward to establishing connections within the local community. Laura finds joy in meeting people at various life stages and guiding them through their health care needs.
Laura has three dogs, a cat and a bird. Outside of work, she enjoys travel, the outdoors, exercise, hiking and boating.
