Biography

Lisa Pierce, DNP, APRN, CPNP-AC is the Director of Advanced Practice Education and Fellowship Programs for OSF HealthCare in Peoria, Illinois. She oversees the education for all advanced practice providers (nurse practitioners and physician assistants) within the system, and has created and leads several simulation-enhanced education programs for advanced practice providers, including a system-wide orientation and 3 fellowship tracks. Lisa has worked for OSF HealthCare since 2001. Starting as a registered nurse at the Children's Hospital of Illinois in the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, she then obtained a Masters in Acute/Chronic Care pediatrics in 2009 from Rush University in Chicago, IL, followed by a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in Systems Leadership from Rush University in 2016. Her nurse practitioner experience has been focused at the OSF Children's Hospital of Illinois, serving as a pediatric acute care nurse practitioner in the PICU since 2010 and at Almost Home Kids since 2018. Lisa's research interests include advanced practice role transition, advanced practice fellowships, and burnout in APPs. She is currently pursuing a Master's Degree in Business Administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville.
