I listen to my patients and their families, seek help when needed and utilize the entire care team to provide the best outcomes.
Choosing a career in medicine didn’t come easily for Dr. Katchen. He tried several occupations before making his decision.
“I finally convinced myself that I needed to move forward and follow a more difficult path that I believed would be much more rewarding,” he said.
That belief has proved true, especially when it comes to his specialty. Dr. Katchen began his career when CT scans were just becoming common and it wasn’t always possible to see inside the brain.
“It’s been an exciting journey,” he said. “And I’m looking forward to seeing how it evolves even more.”
When his kids were young, Dr. Katchen coached them in youth sports and cheered them on in travel teams. Now, he enjoys martial arts and playing chess.
