Originally from North Dakota, Dr. Hefty discovered his calling in medicine early on, inspired by his father, his own health experiences and a deep-rooted desire to care for others. After earning his medical degree from the University of North Dakota and completing surgical training through Michigan State University in Grand Rapids, he returned home to practice before settling in Illinois to be closer to family.

Dr. Hefty provides both outpatient and inpatient care, often beginning with acute needs and continuing with long-term follow-up. He values collaboration, clear communication and upholding the Catholic values that have shaped his life and practice. In his free time, he enjoys gardening, outdoor activities and spending time with his wife, family and two dogs.
