Dr. Gopu came to OSF HealthCare because the Mission and Values resonate with her. It also fulfills a desire in her to work with a team that prioritizes the well-being and satisfaction of patients.

“I approach each patient with empathy, actively listening to their concerns and acknowledging the physical and emotional aspects of their condition,” she said.

Communication is important to Dr. Gopu who wants to make sure you leave appointments feeling informed and assured.

“I want my patients to trust that I’m delivering the best care for them,” she said.

It was her childhood dream to become a doctor. Dr. Gopu viewed doctors as magicians, and she wanted to do magic! But it was actually the sudden passing of her father that drew her closer to the field of medicine.

“The way the doctors and nurses took care of him, and us, during that difficult time had a huge impact on me,” she said.

Dr. Gopu grew up in India. She is married with two children. She loves spending time with her family, gardening and tending to her indoor plants.
