I firmly believe there is more to good patient health than the absence of pain or disease. Patients also need an advocate in their health care process. I like for patients to understand their condition and treatment plans to have ownership of their health.
Dr. Khan grew up in Schaumburg, Illinois, and has lived in greater Chicagoland his whole life. And much like Chicago, he has been around medicine for most of his life.
"I got into medicine because I have family members who have been in this field," Dr. Khan said. "The personal draw for me was seeing how a physician can interact with patients and their families and cause a positive change in their lives."
Dr. Khan believes in honesty and giving each patient his complete attention and effort. If he does not answer a patient's question, he prioritizes finding the answer. At OSF HealthCare, he has the support he needs to meet his patient care goals.
"Compared to other places, I noticed that OSF has a strong focus on taking care of its employees, which I see trickling down into how the physicians and other staff members treat both each other and patients," Dr. Khan said. In his free time, Dr. Khan loves spending time with his wife and family. He enjoys visiting museums and historical sites and watching movies – especially documentaries. He also draws as a hobby, and he is into comics and Japanese animation.
