“I focus on finding the root cause of a patient’s pulmonary issues. I don’t just focus on the lungs. I evaluate for any underlying issues that may be contributing to the problem,” he said.Summer camp may be what sparked Dr. Gupta’s love of medicine. As a child, he attended a summer mini medical school session that piqued his interest in the field. Ultimately, it was his passion for complex physiology and the rapidly evolving field of pulmonology that made the decision for him.
“I chose pulmonology and critical care because it allows me to treat a wide variety of issues,” he said. “I am able to see patients in the office with pulmonary problems one week, while the next I may be helping complex patients in the ICU.”
Dr. Gupta enjoys working on and maintaining cars, working in his garden and volunteering at temple.
