Dr. Paddy was born in Trichy, India and raised in Southern India. It was the influence of a neighbor he knew during high school that led Pasupathy to enter the medical field. He was an intern serving his rotation in the intensive care unit when he first took an interest in cardiology. Dr. Paddy's wife is a home maker, and together they have two children. Their oldest daughter is marketing executive in New York City, while their son is a physician-scientist in the cardiology division at University of California, San Francisco. In his spare time, Dr. Paddy enjoys watching tennis and football.
