Dr. Wang looks forward to working with other health care providers within OSF HealthCare. While practicing evidence-based medicine, patient’s values and needs are her top priorities.
“After my mother passed away from lung cancer, one mentor told me ‘You lost one mom, but maybe you can save thousands of other moms,’ which inspired me to pursue a career in breast surgical oncology,” she said. “From cancer diagnosis to treatment to survivorship, I am privileged to go through this difficult journey with my patients. They are not only patients, but also somebody’s daughters, moms or grandmas.”
Dr. Wang enjoys the serene community of parks and farms and is looking forward to serving the Peoria community.
Dr. Wang graduated summa cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Biologic Sciences from Louisiana State University where she remained for medical school. She completed a General Surgery residency at Lehigh Valley Health System in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Dr. Wang is an MD Anderson Cancer Center at Cooper University Health Care fellowship-trained breast surgical oncologist and a member of American Society of Breast Surgeons and Society of Surgical Oncology.
