Dr. Kumar is a 7th generation physician who believes in putting his patients first.
"I sit down and listen to my patients. After greeting my patients and their families and reviewing the medical file on the computer, I turn away from the computer," Dr. Kumar said. "For the rest of the appointment, my attention is focused on my patient, and we are not done until we have a plan of action."
He chose to partner with OSF HealthCare because he shares the Sisters' beliefs on treating patients.
"Health care is too focused on taking care of the physical body, and not on the emotional and spiritual needs of the person," Dr. Kumar said. "To treat the person, a physician must treat the whole person. And that's why I chose to work for OSF HealthCare."
Dr. Kumar loves cars, history, reading and volunteering in the community. He has an amazing wife, who is also a physician, and two wonderful children.
