My approach is family-centered, which means I involve families and patients in their care. I try to listen to the family's concerns and make sure they're comfortable with whatever decisions I make before leaving the office. No question is silly. They can approach me with any concerns they have.
"We are so fortunate to have so many other physicians within OSF to collaborate with to provide the best care for our patients," Dr. Sierra said.
Every appointment is a little different, but she always spends time talking and addressing any concerns the patient or their family may have prior to an exam.
"I always want to make sure patients feel heard, and that I value their input."
She chose to specialize in pediatrics because of the excitement of working with children every day.
"I also love that we see such a wide variety of patients in pediatrics since we see newborns through young adults. I love watching my patients grow up and seeing them frequently along the way," she said. "As pediatricians, we share some similar sentiments with parents when we realize how quickly kids are growing and changing and becoming their own person."
Married with two daughters, Dr. Sierra enjoys being a "dance mom" and watching them perform. She also loves cooking and being outside running or riding bikes. The family enjoys traveling to Disney World and taking road trips to new destinations, especially the beach.
