My approach to care involves respect and open communication with the patient. I try to build rapport so the patient can trust me and commit to my recommendations for better health outcomes.
Dr. Mortoti was born in Accra, the capital city of Ghana, in West Africa. He chose the specialty of cardiovascular disease because the treatment process for every patient presents a learning opportunity and no other experience beats that in my humble view. I consider medicine as a vocation, a calling to do something higher than oneself, Dr. Mortoti said. It is a privilege and is very humbling to be in such a position of trust. The gratification of a job well executed to make a difference in people's health is a unique experience. "He was attracted to OSF HealthCare because it offered a teaching environment and the opportunity to care for the sickest of patients who need care the most. I relish the opportunity to participate in the training of future internal medicine and cardiovascular disease specialists, he said. Dr. Mortoti is married and has three kids. In his free time, he loves to play chess, travel and play with his kids. He is also a licensed private pilot.
