Dr. Bendjemil brings a unique blend of biomedical engineering and medical training to his role as a surgeon at OSF HealthCare. While initially drawn to the mechanics of medical technology, he soon realized his true calling was directly healing the people those systems serve. Surgery, with its combination of technical precision and immediate impact, felt like the perfect fit.

“I want patients to know they’re heard, respected and supported throughout their surgical journeys,” said Dr. Bendjemil.

He values clear communication and works closely with each patient to develop individualized treatment plans aligned with their goals and lifestyle.

Outside of work, he enjoys traveling with his wife, relaxing at home with their pets and staying active through tennis and cycling. He’s also passionate about philanthropy and global surgery initiatives.
