Shanta grew up in Rockford, Illinois. She loves being close to her lifelong friends and family, and working for an organization that helps her professional growth while allowing her to focus on providing health care access to her hometown community. In particular, she enjoys the scope of care she gets to provide as a practitioner of family medicine.
"I enjoy family practice due to the variety in patient care," Shanta said. "Caring for patients across the lifespan is also a great component of what I do."
Shanta takes a holistic approach to patient care, which means she treats the whole person, and addresses a broad spectrum of factors that can impact someone's health. She believes in being patient-centered and identifying the unique health care needs of every person for whom she cares.
In her free time, she enjoys running, reading, movies and spending time with her family and friends.
