I always put patients first and give them control of their care by giving them choices and letting them make key decisions. I make suggestions to the best of my knowledge and in light of my experience.
Even when he was a child, Siraj Siddiqi, MD, had a great admiration for health care providers and a desire to relieve suffering.
Dr. Siddiqi specializes in neurodevelopmental pediatrics, a subset of medicine focused on children with developmental disabilities or similar issues.
"Children with disabilities are most in need of care. In the past, they were often neglected by providers and society in general," Dr. Siddiqi said.
An advocate for empowering children and families, Dr. Siddiqi's approach includes providing suggestions based on his knowledge and experience, and allowing families to make informed decisions about their child's care.
"Typically, I discuss the most pressing needs of a child. We will make a plan of care base on my experience and the parents' choices, then monitor the child's progress and make appropriate changes as needed," Dr. Siddiqi said.
