Dr. DeJong was drawn to medicine from a young age when she became fascinated with biology.
"I enjoy working with my hands, so I was drawn to surgery early in my medical training," she said. "I also enjoy taking time to talk about difficult things and provide care and comfort, so oncology was a natural fit for me."
Working with her patients is Dr. DeJong's favorite part of being a gynecologic oncologist.
"I love the unique opportunity to walk with a patient from workup and diagnosis, to surgery and through chemotherapy," she said. "I also enjoy the long-term relationships I can build with my patients and their families."
Dr. DeJong grew up in North Dakota. She enjoys cooking and spending time outdoors with her husband and daughters in her spare time.
