Dr. Bartlett has wanted to be a surgeon since his parents bought him a children's anatomy textbook while he was a first grader in Delaware. He still has it.

Dr. Bartlett is married to June. They have three children. Dr. Bartlett also owns and operates a beef cattle farm in West Virginia, where his family has deep roots, and in his free time he enjoys fishing, bird-watching, golf and racquetball.
