Dr. Trainor was drawn to medicine because his grandfather was a doctor. "I also had multiple accidents in my youth that resulted in me visiting the doctor's office – a lot," he said.
Pediatrics was a natural fit. "I have always loved being around kids and interacting with them," he said. "My approach to care is to focus on interacting with the child and getting other details from the parent."
It's important for him to be part of OSF HealthCare. "I enjoy being part of an organization that cares for all people regardless of their ability to pay," Dr. Trainor said.
He is married with three daughters, three step-sons and five grandkids. He is involved in Cursillo, Birthright and GriefShare and has joined medical missions to Haiti with Friends of the Children of Haiti. When not working or volunteering, Dr. Trainor enjoys tennis and playing with his tractor at home.
