A board-certified surgeon, Dr. Steven K. Below, joined Great Plains in 2001. Before his career in medicine, he worked five years at Caterpillar Inc. as a Logistics and Materials Engineer.
With an emphasis on sports medicine, Dr. Below serves as team physician for the following organizations: Bradley University, Peoria Christian School and Notre Dame High School.
In addition, he has provided orthopedic coverage for special events, including the IHSA Class A and AA Boys State Basketball Tournament, IHSA State Softball Tournament and State Farm Missouri Valley Conference Soccer Championship Tournament.

I came to Dr. Below for a cortisone injection in my knee but was having much pain in my left hip - the nurse said *r. Below doesn't do hips but they would refer me - I was very worried about trying to get a whole different dr. & appt., etc. When Dr. Below came in, he said he would x-ray my hip & take a look to make sure I didn't have a fracture. I was SO VERY HAPPY to get it x-rays & he ordered some PT for me, so was EXTREMELY GRATEFUL not to have to get a referral & all that stuff! Thank you Dr. Below!
